Vulgate allows you to easily upload audio files (such as interviews, lectures, podcasts, etc.) and leverage AI to automatically transcribe them into text. The system identifies different speakers, adds timestamps, and generates segment summaries, making your audio content searchable and easily navigable.
Video Tutorial:
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Navigate to Upload:
In the left-hand sidebar, click on "Uploads".
Upload Your Audio File(s):
You can either:
Drag and drop your MP3 file directly into the box labeled "Drop files here or browse files".
Click the "browse files" link within the box to open your computer's file explorer and select the desired MP3 file.
Once added, your file will appear listed below the drop zone, showing its name and size.
Upload the File(s):
Click the "Upload file(s)" button.
Submit for Processing:
Click the "Submit" button.
You'll see a confirmation message ("Files added successfully to processing queue"), and the system will begin processing the audio file in the background. This may take a few moments depending on the file length. You might see a message indicating the document is being processed.
Review the Transcript:
Once processing is complete, the view will automatically update (or you can navigate to the document from the "Documents" list).
The "Transcript" tab will be displayed by default. Here you will find:
Full Transcription: The audio content converted into text.
Speaker Diarization: The AI automatically identifies and labels different speakers (e.g., Speaker A, Speaker B, Speaker C).
Timestamps: Each segment of the transcript is linked to its corresponding time in the audio file.
Integrated Audio Player: At the bottom of the screen, an audio player allows you to play the original MP3 file. Clicking play will often highlight the corresponding text segment in the transcript.
View Auto-Generated Outline (Optional):
In the right-hand panel, click the "Outline" tab.
Here, the AI provides automatically generated chapter/segment titles and summaries based on detected topical shifts within the audio.
Publish the Document:
Review the transcript, metadata (if applicable), and outline for accuracy.
After reviewing the metadata, click the the "Proceed to Publish" button.
The document's status will change to "Published". It is now fully indexed and available for searching, querying, and use with features like the Library Chat within Vulgate.
Your audio file has now been successfully uploaded, transcribed, and integrated into your Vulgate library.
