The Query Library is a powerful tool within Vulgate that allows you to search through your digitized documents efficiently. You can use two main types of search: Neural Search (powered by AI for contextual understanding) and standard Keyword Search. This guide will walk you through using both methods and viewing the results.

Step-by-step Instructions:
1. Navigate to Query Library
In the main left-hand navigation menu, click on Query Library. This will open the main search interface.
2. Understanding Neural Search (Default)
By default, the search type is set to Neural. You can see this selected in the dropdown menu to the right of the search bar.
Neural Search uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to understand the meaning and context of your query, not just exact words. It searches through the vectorized data of your library to find the most relevant results, even if they don't contain your exact search terms.
3. Performing a Neural Search
Ensure Neural is selected in the dropdown menu.
Type your search query into the Query Library search bar.
Example from video: early church councils
Press Enter or wait for the results to load automatically.
The results will appear below the search bar, sorted by relevance as determined by the AI. You'll see snippets from the documents containing relevant information.
4. Performing a Keyword Search
If you prefer to search for exact words or phrases, you can switch to Keyword Search.
Click the dropdown menu currently showing Neural.
Select Keyword from the options.
Type your exact keyword(s) into the Query Library search bar.
Example from video: Constantine
Press Enter or wait for the results to load.
The results will display documents containing the exact keyword(s) you entered.
5. Using the Document Preview Pane
When you have search results listed (from either Neural or Keyword search), you can quickly preview documents without leaving the results page.
Click anywhere on a search result entry.
A Preview Mode pane will open on the right-hand side of the screen, displaying the content of the selected document.
You can scroll through the pages or sections of the document within this preview pane using the slider or page numbers (if applicable) at the bottom of the pane.
To preview a different document, simply click on another search result entry in the list on the left. The preview pane will update accordingly. This allows for rapid checking of multiple results.
6. Switching to Full View (Optional)
If you want to view a document in more detail, you can switch from the preview mode to a full view.
Within the preview pane, locate and click the option Preview Mode: Switch to Full View (usually located near the top of the preview pane).
This will expand the document viewer, often hiding the search results list, providing a larger reading area.
