Deleting your account
How to permanently delete your Vulgate account and what happens to your data.
May 21, 2026
You can delete your Vulgate account at any time. Deletion is permanent and irreversible — there's no undo and no admin can restore the account. This guide explains what happens and how to deal with edge cases (Organization ownership, paid subscriptions, etc.).
Before you delete
If you only want to take a break, you don't need to delete — Vulgate accounts have no inactivity fees and no penalty for being idle.
Delete your account
- Click your avatar and open Settings.
- Open Preferences.
- Find the Delete account control.
- Confirm by re-entering your email address and clicking Yes, delete this account.
You're signed out immediately and your account is permanently deleted. Documents in shared Organizations stay — they belong to the Organization, not to you.
Reactivating after deletion
There is no reactivation. You can sign up again with the same email address — but it will be a brand-new account with no history.
Data we keep
Even after account deletion, we may retain limited data required for legal or accounting compliance. For the full retention schedule see our Privacy Policy.
