Creating an Organization

Set up an Organization in Vulgate so your team can share documents, billing, and AI access.

May 21, 2026

An Organization in Vulgate is a workspace for a team. Every Organization has its own Library, members, billing, and plan. Individual users can belong to multiple Organizations; switch between them from the team picker in the top-left of the app.

Why use an Organization

  • Shared Library. All members can search, chat with, and read the same documents — no need to re-upload.
  • Consolidated billing. One subscription, one invoice, applies to everyone.
  • Role-based access. Admins manage documents and members; Members consume the Library and add their own uploads.

If you only need Vulgate for yourself, you don't need to create an Organization — your personal team is created automatically when you sign up.

Create an Organization

  1. Click your team name in the top-left of the app and open the team picker.
  2. Choose Create new Organization.
  3. Enter a name (your school, company, parish, research group).
  4. Click Create.

You're automatically the first Owner of the new Organization.

Invite teammates

After creation, open Settings → Org settings and use the Invite members section to send email invitations:

  1. Enter one or more email addresses.
  2. Pick the Role — Super Admin, Content Admin, or Member. See Roles and permissions.
  3. Click Invite.

Each invitee gets an email with a link to accept the invitation. New members can accept, sign in (or sign up), and join in one flow.

Pick a plan

New Organizations start on the Free plan. Open Settings → Billing to upgrade — the upgrade flow walks you through plan selection and payment. See Adjusting your plan.

Switch between Organizations

Click the team picker in the top-left of the app and pick the Organization you want to work in. Your active Organization is remembered across sessions on the same browser.

Transferring or deleting an Organization

Transferring ownership and deleting an Organization are handled directly by Vulgate. Please email info@vulgate.ai if you need either, and we'll walk you through the process.
